The conference will be held in the Congress Center of the National Research Council (CNR) of Sesto Fiorentino.

The Scientific Pole of Sesto Fiorentino, including the scientific departments of the Universtity of Firenze, the National Research Council and other international research institutions such as the European Laboratory for Non-linear Spectroscopy (LENS) and the National Insitute of Nuclear Physics (INFN), are located a few kilometers from the center of Firenze.
Transportation:
The Research Area can be easily reached by the bus no. 59 from the Railway Station of Firenze Rifredi.
Location:
The CNR Research Area is located in the Scientific Pole in Sesto Fiorentiono, a small town to the north-west of Firenze, a few-kilometers from Firenze, very close to the Vespucci Airport and to the A1 and A11 motorway exits.
AIMS & SCOPE
The International Society for Electromagnetic Aquametry (ISEMA) is an informal association of scientists and engineers from academia, industry, and government who are bound together by their common interest in the theory, technology, and practical application of RF and microwave measurements of water content in a wide range of materials. ISEMA activities have revolved around their biennial conferences on that subject matter.
This 11th ISEMA conference will provide an interdisciplinary platform for sharing experience and discussing latest scientific results in understanding, development and application of electromagnetic moisture measurement techniques. The format of the conference will encourage informal discussions as well as in-depth formal oral and poster presentations.
TOPICS
The conference will address all problems relevant to both physical concepts and technological aspects of practical implementation of electromagnetic measurement techniques for determining the amount of water in moist substances (Microwave Aquametry), and the electromagnetic properties of materials. The conference will concentrate on, but is not limited to the following subjects:
1. Dielectric properties of water in materials with various degrees of binding.
2. Theory and applications of electromagnetic mixing rules and formulas.
3. Computational methods of electromagnetic wave propagation in dispersive and lossy dielectrics.
4. Dielectric spectroscopy and applications.
5. Dielectric relaxation properties of water in biological substances and tissues.
6. Electromagnetic sensors in time and frequency domain for moisture content determination.
7. Integrated techniques using RF and/or microwave dielectric measurements with other methods such as impedance spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, NMR etc.
8. Applications in civil engineering, agriculture, industry etc.
9. Static and dynamic moisture content determination in agricultural products.
10. Moisture content determination and monitoring in soil, snow and waste disposals.
11. Electromagnetic determination of physical properties of materials.
12. Standardization of measuring methods.
GENERAL SUBMISSION INFORMATION
Papers should describe original works on topics related to the interaction of EM fields with material containing water. The submitted abstract must be written in English, and it should describe the research with a detail sufficient to allow the Scientific Committee to decide about its acceptance.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

++ Please note that the deadline for the abstract submission has been exceeded. The upload feature has, therefore, been disabled. ++Abstracts must be written in English. They should contain sufficient detail to convey clearly the approach and the results of research. The Scientific Organizing Committee will review the submitted abstracts to ensure the novelty, quality, relevance and clarity of the accepted papers and to group presentations into cohesive oral and poster sessions. Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference program which will be available from April 2016.

PAPER SUBMISSION
Deadline for submission of the accepted papers: February 15, 2016
Camera-ready copies and Microsoft Word files of the accepted presentations (8-10 pages including drawings) should be submitted until February 15, 2016. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, which will be distributed at the conference and available for purchase after the conference.
Presenting authors are kindly required to register at the Conference through the online registration procedure.
In order to finalize the scientific program in due time, at least one registered Author is required for papers to be published in the Conference Proceedings.

ABOUT ISEMA
The International Society for Electromagnetic Aquametry (ISEMA) is an informal association of scientists and engineers from academia, industry, and government who are bound together by their common interest in the theory, technology, and practical application of RF and microwave measurements of water content in a wide range of materials. ISEMA members have organized the biennial conference series “International Conference on Electromagnetic Interaction with Water and Moist Substances.”
VISION
One of the aims of ISEMA is to support the cooperation of scientists and users of material and moisture measurements by using microwave and dielectric measuring methods in a wide frequency spectrum. Since the beginning of the biennial conferences, the International Society for Electromagnetic Aquametry (ISEMA), which consists of like-minded engineers and scientists along with interested industry and government partners who are continually looking for ways to further develop the use, in both theoretical and practical applications, of radio frequencies and microwave measurements in relation to moisture measurement in a wide spectrum of materials and organisms.
PRACTICAL OBJECTIVES
Quantitative measurements of water content in materials are important from an economic point of view. Since water occurs in most materials in nature as a natural component of the material or is introduced during technological processes, it is quite obvious that measurement and control of moisture content continue to be of great economic and technical importance. The domination of practical aims over cognitive purposes influenced the development of microwave aquametry in the past and also had a serious impact on its present state. Typical non-destructive techniques for determining moisture content in the material consist of measuring the electrical properties of the material in a sample holder and then correlating these properties to determine the moisture content. The great potential for savings in fuel, energy and manpower combined with an improvement in the quality of the end product, from the application of moisture content measurement and control, have created a powerful incentive for research and equipment development all over the world.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
The first meeting devoted to the exchange of ideas on the subject took place in 1980. In the late eighties professional meetings took place more frequently and a tradition of annual meetings (Feuchtetage) was established in Germany. Later another meeting of more international character was established, namely the IEEE International Microwave Symposium Workshop on Electromagnetic Wave Interaction with Water and Moist Substances and recently as the International Conferences on Electromagnetic Wave Interaction with Water and Moist Substances, organized by ISEMA.
